Listed here are downloadable PDF files, formatted as presentation slides, which can be inserted whole into presentations given by non-MINOS scientists. A brief description of some of these analyses is given on the Scientific Results page; for more detailed descriptions please use the related MINOS publication. A few results from earlier stages of these analyses, as presented at 2010 conferences, are also provided for comparison in the lower section. Results presented at the Neutrino 2012 Conference. This describes the NC disappearance analysis and subsequent limits on sterile neutrinos.

MINOS Atmospheric Neutrinos and Antineutrinos - 2012 Analysis

MINOS Electron Neutrino Appearance - 2012 Analysis

Results presented at the Neutrino 2012 Conference. This describes the electron neutrino appearance analysis and the subsequent limit on the values of the parameter sin2(2θ13)

MINOS Calibration and Detector Performance - 2012 Analysis

Results presented at the Neutrino 2012 Conference. Results showing the performance of the MINOS calibration system over 6 years of running (2005-2011) evaluated as a function of time and position. Also shown are the long term behaviours of some of the detector components.

MINOS Neutrino Time of Flight - 2012 Analysis

Results presented at the Neutrino 2012 Conference. This describes the analysis procedure, timing stability, systematic uncertainties, and results for 6 years of running as a retrospective analysis.

MINOS Muon Antineutrino Disappearance - 2011 Analysis

Ocillation analysis results completed in 2011, using 2.95e20 POT (protons on target), used to produce a beam of muon anti-neutrinos, whose CC (charged current) interactions in the MINOS detectors provide evidence of oscillation to other anti-neutrino flavors. More details can be found in arXiv:hep-ex/1202.2772 - published in Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 191801 (2012).

MINOS Electron Neutrino Appearance

Results completed in 2011 for the Electron Neutrino Appearance Analysis, which used 8.2e20 POT (protons on target) to produce a beam of muon neutrinos, and looked for evidence that some fraction of these oscillate to electron neutrinos. The results set limits on the values of the paramter sin2(2θ13)

MINOS Muon Antineutrino Disappearance using the Neutrino Beam

Results using 7.1e20 POT (protons on target) to produce a beam of muon neutrinos, which also contains a small fraction of anti-neutrinos, which are selected and used for this analysis.

MINOS Neutral Current Analysis

If sterile neutrinos exist, oscillations of muon neutrinos into sterile neutrinos would result in a deficit of observed NC (neutral current) interactions. Details of this Neutral Current Analysis are found in arXiv:hep-ex/1104.3922 - published in Phys. Rev. Lett. 107, 011802 (2011).

MINOS Muon Neutrino Disappearance - Charged Current Analysis

Results as of April 2011 for the Muon Neutrino CC disappearance analysis, which provides the evidence for oscillation of muon neutrinos into neutrinos of other flavors. More details can be found in arXiv:hep-ex/1103.0340 - published in Phys. Rev. Lett. 106, 181801 (2011).

Neutrino Physics using the MINOS near detector

Analyses using data only from the near detector provide high statistics measurements of neutrino and antineutrino cross-sections, and the effective quasi-elastic axial mass.

Oscillation measurement with atmospheric neutrinos and antineutrinos

The far detector, in its underground location, accumulates a steady sample of neutrinos produced by cosmic ray interactions in the atmosphere. These results are from 1657 live-days of data.

NuMI Beam

Overview of the NuMI neutrino beam as measured by the near detector, and use of the data to constrain particle production Monte Carlo models; also a plot of the declining yield of neutrinos per proton from a particular NuMI target, presumably caused by radiation damage.

Previous Results reported in 2010

MINOS Muon Antineutrino Disappearance - an earlier stage of the Muon Antineutrino Disappearance Analysis, reported in 2010 after the accumulation of data from 1.7e20 POT producing an anti-neutrino beam. These results are superceded by the 2011 analysis using 2.95e20 POT.

MINOS Muon Antineutrino Disappearance - slightly different slides from the same analysis as listed immediately above, presented at the Neutrino 2010 conference; these include a comparison with the neutrino result, below.

MINOS Muon Neutrino Disappearance - results from the Charged Current Analysis, presented at the Neutrino 2010 conference; superceded by the 2011 results listed in the upper section.

MINOS Search for Active Neutrino Disappearance using Neutral Current Interactions - results presented at the Neutrino 2010 conference of the NC disappearance analysis and subsequent limits on sterile neutrinos, superceded by the 2011 results listed in the upper section.

MINOS νμ to νe search - these results are superceded by the 2011 Electron Neutrino Appearance result listed above; this 2010 result is also found in arXiv:1006.0996
