Tests run between Birch and Cedar
Between releases there is usually extensive testing of new reconstruction modules.
This page chronicles those efforts and advertises what scripts are available from PreCedar Tests
While preparing for the Cedar release, the following packages were tested for deployment:
- CandChop
- CandFitTrackCam
- CandEventSR
- Adjusted MC
- PTSim ProtoType SCripts
CandChop Scripts
The CandChop package has been developed by Nathaniel Tagg as a new approach to recovering low eneregy events and slicing in both detectors.
The underlying algorithm is very different though for the two detectors. Please see the
CandChop script configuration page for a
full discussion of what modifications were necessary. For testing purposes the following files were created:
Far MC Production with Chopping
Near MC Production with Chopping
Far Cosmic Data Production with Chopping
Near Cosmic Data Production with Chopping
Far Spill Data Production with Chopping
Near MC Production with Chopping
These scripts are equivalent to the R1-18-2/Birch production scripts with the only modifications being the addition of the CandChop.
Testing of these scripts took place in R1.18.2 for the far detector scripts and in R1-18-3 (equivalent to R1-18-2 with a backport to CandChop)
for the Near Detector files.
CandFitTrackCam Scripts
The CandFitTrackCam package has been developed by John Marshall as a new approach to performing the track fitting in the
MINOS standard reconstruction. This package boasts improved perfomance and a great increase in speed.

Far MC Production with CamFit
Near MC Production with CamFit
Far Cosmic Data Production with CamFit
Near Cosmic Data Production with CamFit
Far Spill Data Production with CamFit
Near MC Production with Cambridge Fitter
These scripts are set to run in R1-21 or development. They will not run in earlier releases, other than that though they are equivalent to
the R1-18-2/Birch production scripts with the only modifications being the addition of the Camfit.
Testing of these scripts took place in R1.21 for the all scripts.
CandEvent Scripts
The CandEvent package has been rebuilt by Chris Smith.
The new code is truly designed to work with the CandSubShower package.

Near MC Production with CandEvent
These scripts are equivalent to the R1-18-2/Birch production scripts with the only modifications being the addition of the CandEvent set to use the subshower.
Testing of these scripts took place in R1.18.2 for the far detector scripts and in R1-18-3 (equivalent to R1-18-2 with a backport to CandChop)
for the Near Detector files.
MC Scripts
The birch release had two problems in the MC generation: no ntuple output of unreconstructed events, no SimSnarl in the Cand streams.
This was corrected in development and is ready for the next release:

Far Cosmic MC Production
These scripts are equivalent to the R1-18-2/Birch production scripts with the only modifications being the MC corrections.
