Shifters are asked to sign up for a 2-week slot for the installation & cabling period, which is expected to continue through the end of August 2004. Since much of the installation & cabling is occurring during the summer, a few people have been able to be at FNAL for a more extended period. The result is a fairly decent sized pool of available people, and all of them do not need to be on shifts every day of the week, or for an entire day. A meeting is held every day at 1:30pm, in the MINOS Control Room, 12NE, to arrange shift details for the following workday. Shift tasks are divided between cabling and electronics commissioning. Anyone at FNAL for shifts should attend this daily meeting.
New shifters will be trained for cabling on their first shift day. It can help to read these procedures.
